Why are Negative Thoughts Blocking Your Success?

Your Success?

Negative thoughts can block your success. My top seven success blockers.

  1. “I can’t: “Stop right there. The minute that you say “I can’t,” your success monitor plummets to the ground. One of my favorite scriptures is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” We were born to succeed. We were born to win. And we were born to have success.
  2. “I don’t have the skills to accomplish my dreams.” Acknowledgement is the first step to accomplishment. If you don’t have the skills, work to acquire them. If you do have them, work to develop them. And if you want to use them, find ways to benefit yourself and others.
  3. “I’m too old.” Pablo Casals practiced the piano two hours a day and the cello four hours a day well into his nineties. He wasn’t too old to live his dream and hone his skills. Colonel Sanders was sixty-five when he opened Kentucky Fried Chicken. He owned and operated a filling station. He created his recipe and sold fried chicken from the filling station. That enterprise would morph into Kentucky Fried Chicken. He did not take retirement sitting down. Instead of retirement, he went into refirement.
  4. “I don’t have enough money.” The simplest tasks are free. You don’t have to pay to write a blog post. You don’t have to draw money out to take a walk. And you don’t have to be wealthy to read a book.
  5. “No one will appreciate my accomplishments.” How do you know that? Try to share your talents with others. Put your posts on facebook, linkedin, and on your website. You don’t know how many lives may be impacted.
  6. “Why should I even try?” Why shouldn’t you try. If you don’t, the world will miss out on your experience, your wisdom, and your knowledge.
  7. “I’m not smart enough.” If you can read, write, and speak you can make a positive impact on your life, on your community, and on your country. W.E. DuBois believed that the advancement of blacks relied on the talented ten per cent. Booker T. Washington wanted to raise the status of blacks from the middle class up. Both had wisdom in their belief systems. The talented ten percent can lead while they consider the input of the masses. All of us matter when it comes to national and global interests. Don’t let negative thoughts block your success!
