Bring Hope into Your Life

Bring Hope into Your Life:

Sometimes it seems as though hope is no longer within grasp. We all experience life challenges. Happiness is largely contingent on how we deal with them. Following is an  approach to happiness and hope.

  1. Determine to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Responding to the pain of rejection with unhealthy choices does nothing to resolve issues. In fact, it creates problems and reduces the capacity to cope. Alcoholism and drug addiction are two prime examples. Both serve to assuage pain while creating more pain in the process. There are four negative prognoses for addictions: death, jail, insanity, and loss of relationships. None produce health. None produce happiness. And none produce hope. Instead, strive to produce hope by adopting a healthy lifestyle.
  2. Make spiritual reading a daily habit. Deeply ingrain wisdom from the Bible, from the works of Wayne Dyer, Deepok Chopra and other spiritual writers. Visit the bookstore in your church. Choose books that will inspire and encourage you. Soaking your mind in higher energy knowledge will bring solace and peace. Listen to good music instead of soaking yourself in the news. Read good books instead of swimming in the media. And think positive thoughts instead of drowning in negativity. Keep your body, mind, and spirit lifted up to a high level of consciousness.
  3. Determine to feed your mind only  positive thoughts. Turn off the television and videos which endorse violence. Protect your most valuable asset, your mind. Stand guard against anything that sabotages your energies.
  4. Meditate on the Scripture “Put on the helmet of salvation, the belt of truth, and the sandals of peace.” This provides total covering of all the chakras and protects us from the invasion of negativity. Cover yourself with the protection of the scriptures.
  5. Surround yourself with positive people. Keep in touch with those who will encourage and inspire you. Do not let negative energies permeate your space.
  6. Refuse to dwell on negativity. Learn the healing value of forgiveness. Make compassion a byword in your life. Live to love and to serve.
  7. Obey the words of the song “Shine a little sunshine every day. Shine a little sunshine every day. Help somebody along the way. Shine a little sunshine every day.”
  8. Give hope and hope will come back to you. Smile and smiles will come back to you. Give encouragement and you will be encouraged. Give inspiration and you will be inspired.
  9. Barbara Altman, the author of hope, has written two books: “Hope Shines Eternal: My Journey Through Mental Illness” and Passages of Hope, 52 Real Life Stories that Will Inspire and Encourage You.” Both can be purchased on Amazon, Kindle, and on WWW.
