Maria helps those who have felt abandoned. She is the human representation of God to her students.
How often do we fear that God has abandoned us? I’ve uttered those words. “God, where are you? Have you forgotten all about me? Of all seven billion people on this planet, do I really count?” Jesus uttered similar words when he cried out “God, oh God, why have you forsaken me?” It’s common to feel like that at times.
Rest assured that God will show up right on time. A Maria will show up to help you.
People like Maria Schmidt are a part of the answer. A compliment, a word of praise, and a smile can go a long way.
When the going gets tough, God is always there. When life challenges seem daunting, God is always there. When we feel completely drained, God is always there.
Action Plan:
Any healthy relationship is made up of eighty percent positive and twenty percent negative components. Every criticism needs to be balanced with five or six words of encouragement and hope. Plan to extend positive energy everywhere. Be a Maria to yourself and to others.
